West Chester Academy of Music and Dance's energetic acting classes help students utilize their natural gift of imagination. Designed to improve self confidence, social interaction, and creative expression, these classes use theatre exercises, improvisation games, story telling, music, writing, art, and movement to help students explore the world of theatre and acting.

Acting Classes are offered quarterly in 10 week blocks. Acting classes meet once a week for one hour. Call 829-2345 for current times.

Our drama program is open to children ages 5 and up who wish to explore the world of acting. We're a place where all children, from the shy to the outgoing, can develop at their own pace, with plenty of positive encouragement. Our program features a positive, safe, and fun environment where each child feels comfortable to grow and develop in his or her artistic and creative endeavors. The students are recognized for their unique contributions in the areas of speaking, acting, and improvisation.

Dramatic play is fun and good for children! Acting classes help children to grow artistically and to develop life skills that transfer to other areas of their lives. The confident, articulate child finds it easier to make friends, accept new challenges and explore new directions. The Acting program is designed to help each child achieve these invaluable life skills.

Our instructors love working with budding young actors and actresses, and working hard to motivate and inspire them to become articulate communicators through enthusiastic participation in a wide range of creative activities.

At the end of each session, students utilize their developed acting skills to create a short performance for parents and friends.
