Garage Band
Private lesson students (with their private instructors’ recommendation) now have the opportunity to use their musical and performing talents in an actual band situation. Students who sign up for Garage Band are grouped with other students of similar age, experience, and musical interests into four to six piece rock bands. The bands have 30 or 45 minute weekly rehearsals led by WCAMD instructor Jeff Brown. In the rehearsals, they construct a set list that is appealing to any audience, and learn how to rehearse in a band situation. At the conclusion of the rehearsal, each band mate has a clear understanding of what they need to prepare for the next rehearsal and/or performance. Performance opportunities at local venues are provided as the bands are prepared.
Garage Band is open to all instruments and genres. If interested, please sign up, even if you are not sure how you will fit in. We will place you in a band that fits your needs. All brass, string, voice, and percussion students are welcome!
The bands meet 14 times per trimester. Students work on the band material with their private instructors in between times. The tuition cost is $50 or $75 per month, for 30 or 45 minute lessons, to be added to the student’s current private lesson tuition.
